This was my first Pretentious Colour Field Painting, not including the experimental forays I turned into some birthday cards in the fall of 2005.  No, “Untitled 01″ is not a bug in the title – that is actually what this is called.  If I gave it a name, then I would be ascribing some kind of symbolism to the imagery that isn’t there.

This shattered landscape is (very) loosely based on Vancouver.  It’s drawn from my brain, so the geography is funky.  The tallest building is the Shangri-La, the second tallest is the Wall Centre.  I guess.  This was a gift for Winston.
