This guy became a hatching warmup for when I was inking my Luddite comic.  I didn’t draw it all in one go.  I think I had just finished reading The Road when I drew this.

The top tree was across from the guest house where I stayed while I was volunteering in Uganda.  The bottom one is a mangrove tree near Lamu, Kenya.  The tree on the right is nearby Bete Giyorgis in Lalibela, Ethiopia.
